New, self-contained apartments will open on the site adjacent to Field House in September 2019. Field House and Apartments will offer a blended model of rehabilitation for women with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and a history of trauma and/or attachment disorders. The blended model will combine a traditional rehabilitation environment with single and dual occupancy apartments, to strengthen the existing care pathway at Field House.
The new apartments replicate a realistic community living environment and offer a safe, structured and private environment to help reinforce social boundaries. Patients have their own kitchen diner, lounge and ensuite bedroom, and are encouraged to be responsible for maintaining their own living space. The environment facilitates recovery and helps patients prepare for community living.
Field House and Apartments focus on psychological input and provide specialist, evidence based interventions including Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Kelly Johnson-Ward, Hospital Director said,
“We are delighted to be in a position to open Field House Apartments. Our aim is to provide tailored treatment and rehabilitation programmes that prepare women for a successful and sustainable discharge into the community. The apartments will help to provide a seamless care pathway for our patients and help them return to the community fully equipped for the challenges of living independently.”
