Stanley House gets out and about to support the Huntington’s Disease Association to help mark HD Awareness Week https://www.hda.org.uk/get-involved/huntingtons-disease-awareness-week
Stanley House exhibited for the first time at the Malvern Spring Show held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern from 10th – 13th May. Over 100,000 people attend this event each year.
Seed planting and face painting activities along with a guess the number of jelly beans in a jar competition generated donations for the Huntington’s Disease Association amounting to over £300.00. The amazing wall displays, wooden animals and flowers were expertly created by the residents at Stanley House – each and every resident had a part to play in the art work!
Stanley House’s attendance at this hugely popular local event helped to raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease as well as highlight what an amazing service Stanley House is and the vital importance it plays to those affected by this and other long term progressive neurological conditions. It also sparked the interest of some to come and join the team at Stanley House!
Jo McCabe from Stanley House attended the Huntington’s Disease Association family day in Bristol held on Saturday 2nd June. She also helped facilitate some of the sessions at the event which was very well attended. Carol Dutton a specialist HD adviser covering Gloucestershire, Bristol and South Gloucestershire organised the day.
