How to find us:

 

By Car: The Avalon Centre is located 2.6 miles from Junction 15 of the M4 which provides excellent road links to the South West, Wales, London and the Home Counties. For GPS, our postcode reference is SN3 3RT. As you turn off the A4006 at the roundabout into Hindle Way, we are the single storey white building to the left of the veterinary practice (opposite a large supermarket). Car parking spaces can be found to the front and side of the building.

 

By Train: Swindon train station is a ten minute taxi drive away from The Avalon Centre and is on the Great Western main line providing easy access to the service for visiting families, friends and professionals. A train journey from or to London Paddington takes just over one hour.

The Avalon Centre is a purpose built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury. The centre has been designed specifically to support people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioural rehabilitation programme.

 

The service is a single storey, 20 bed building, set in two acres of private gardens. Located near the town of Swindon in Wiltshire, the service is registered as an independent hospital and can also support people who may be detained under a section of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007).

 

The specialist clinical team at The Avalon Centre delivers a range of outcome based, clinical programmes. The Transdisciplinary Team (TDT) is made up of Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists and Psychiatrists.

 

Situated close to the amenities of the town centre, the spacious accommodation is made up of 18 individual en suite bedrooms and two self-contained flats. The building is designed around two enclosed courtyard areas and within the service there are various communal and therapy spaces.
