Jo qualified as a registered nurse for adults from Portsmouth University in 1993. Initially, she worked in operating theatres and on surgical wards in Portsmouth. Jo spent a year working on a paediatric ward in Southampton before moving back to general surgery at a hospital in Midhurst, West Sussex where she spent the next 8 years, some of the time as a ward sister. After maternity leave Jo returned to work as a specialist bariatric nurse, helping to set up the service in the area. In 2007 Jo joined Stanley House as a staff nurse and was soon promoted to deputy manager and then to Registered Manager.

Heidi McCarthy

Deputy

Heidi joined Stanley House as a care assistant in 2007 working part time, whilst doing her Nurse training at Worcester University. Once qualified in February 2010 Heidi joined Stanley House as a full time Staff nurse. In 2013 she became one of the lead nurses. In October 2017 Heidi was promoted to the role of Deputy Manager which she is embracing. As Deputy Heidi helps to lead the team to meet the individual needs of our residents whilst supporting them, their family and friends throughout their journey with us at Stanley House.

Professor Rickards

Consultant in Neuropsychiatry

Prof. Hugh Rickards is a Consultant in Neuropsychiatry and was appointed in 1997.  He is also an Honorary Professor of Neuropsychiatry at the University of Birmingham. He provides input to many of the residents at Stanley House.

Dr Jenny Brooks

Consultant Neuro Psychologist

Dr Jenny Brooks, Consultant Clinical Psychologist has over 10 years’ experience of working within neurobehavioural rehabilitation. She was part of the Neuropsychiatry Service at St Andrews Healthcare, where she worked with children and adults with acquired brain injury and progressive neurological conditions. She was the Clinical Lead at Elm Park, Essex, as well as working within Grafton Manor, Northampton. Dr Brooks is currently a committee member at Acquired Brain Injury Forum for London (ABIL) and was previously a committee member at Essex Acquired Brain Injury Forum (EABIF). She has published in the areas of risk management and rehabilitation of aggression after acquired brain injury and has presented at many conference on the assessment and rehabilitation of neurobehavioural disability.
