15 Aug Elysium’s thought leadership conference – ‘Huntington’s Disease: Current Developments’
Elysium Neurological is proud to present the first in an occasional series of thought leadership events for people working in neurological care where we focus on current research and best practice in relation to specific neurological illnesses. This inaugural event will focus on Huntington’s Disease (HD) and will be CPD credited.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Hugh Rickards
Dr Rickards is a Consultant in Neuropsychiatry at Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation NHS Trust and Honorary Professor of Neuropsychiatry at University of Birmingham. He leads a multidisciplinary service for people with HD and the team have participated in many of the major HD clinical trials in the UK.
Sue Tompkins is the Regional Advisor at the Huntington’s Disease Association. Sue will be giving us a HD Association update and taking us through the excellent new process around accreditation for the provision of care for people with HD.
Kirsty Page (Regional Therapy Lead, Elysium Healthcare) and Theresa Fitzpatrick, (Service Lead at Badby Park) will focus on the clinical perspective of Huntington’s Disease, with a particular focus on the key benefits of an OT led approach to caring for people with HD.

Registration will be from 9.30 with refreshments, the event will finish at 12.30 with lunch and opportunities for networking. Those wishing to have a tour of Badby Park will be very welcome.
