28 Jul Badby Park hosts our very own ‘CRUFTS’
Our DAVENTRY care home welcomed some of the town’s most pampered pooches for Crufts-style show on June 30. Dog lovers were invited to our Badby Park specialist neurological care home to enter their cutest canines for a number of prizes including the Most Naughty, Kindest Eyes and Most Sassy. There was a huge turnout of residents as well as family and friends on a meltingly hot summers day.
From a fantastic array of over 30 dogs, the judges were hard pressed to choose winners. However, Manny, who displayed great style and a wonderful sense of fun was unanimously their selection for overall “Best in Show” dog – as well as melting hearts to run away with the ‘Kindest Eyes’ award.
Emie who showed her on behalf of her mum, Sian, was thrilled. “Manny is a such a cheeky dog and a real delight to be around. It’s been wonderful showing her off here – the grounds here are beautiful and perfect for the dogs to enjoy. I hope the residents enjoyed the show too.”
Other winners included:
Most Sassy – Ceaser (owned by Jessica)
Most Courageous – Tuplip (owned by Rosemary)
Most Naughty – Millie (owner Lottie)
“It’s been a wonderful event here and I think it’s great that residents and families get to enjoy the event together”
We were also delighted to welcome the local Northampton fire brigade who dropped in for a cup of tea and to show off their engine. Residents and families really enjoyed being ‘up close and personal’ with the lovely firemen.
Lesley, Care Centre Director at Badby Park, said the day had been a huge success.
She said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many friends and family here today. Dogs are such wonderful and loving companions and our residents have really enjoyed spending time with them and joining in the occasion.
“Well done to our winners and to everyone who took part today. We hope that all our new four legged friends come back to visit us soon.”
