Aderyn hospital provides an integrated assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for men with enduring mental health problems who may have a secondary diagnosis of personality disorder, mild learning disability or autism or substance misuse disorders.

Aderyn is a 17-bed rehabilitation hospital that has a patient-centred model of care where the focus is on the overall well-being of the individual and community facing rehabilitation. Within the grounds, there’s also a 2-bed open rehabilitation cottage where individuals are given the opportunity to prepare for an independent life in the community.

 

Individual and collaborative therapeutic timetables are developed for each patient and individual psychological therapies are offered.

 

The location of Aderyn provides the ideal place to access resources within the local community and provide patients with the opportunity to develop robust community skills.  Public transport is easily available, enabling patients to access the market town of Abergavenny or the busy new town of Cwmbran.

 

Admission Criteria

  • Men aged 18 years and over
  • Primary diagnosis of a mental health problem
  • Informal or detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) or Mental Capacity Act (2005)
  • Secondary diagnosis of personality disorder, mild learning disability or autism or substance misuse disorders

 

Aderyn Rehabilitation Service accept referrals from the NHS, Local Health Boards or community settings and assessments can be arranged within 72 hours
