Healthlinc House provides a specialist service for men and women with a learning disability and associated complex conditions including autism spectrum disorders, personality disorder and forensic issues.
The environment at Healthlinc House is a unique element of the service. Care is provided in a range of small, gender-specific apartments. These allow the rehabilitation programme to be delivered in a domestic environment which replicates community living more closely than a ward environment.

The local area provides walkable access to a range of amenities, including shops, library and churches. The location provides a more relaxed local environment than a busy inner-city setting to enable patients to engage in their therapeutic programme, thus increasing the pace of recovery and speeding up discharge.
Welton is just one hour by car from Nottingham, Doncaster and Hull.

The service offers:

  • Timely assessment, treatment and rehabilitation placements
  • Individualised and intensive packages of care through our High Intensity Service
  • A step down pathway to community based services in Healthlinc Apartments, Chesterfield and The Cottage


The service is specialist in providing care for individuals with:

  • Autism
  • Personality disorder
  • Highly complex and severe challenging behaviour

The hospital is able to accept patients detained under the Mental Health Act, including Restriction Orders and those supported by Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards.


The service is available for:

  • Individuals living in the community who due to crisis may have been admitted to an acute setting or PICU and require a period of short term assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to enable them to return back to their home environment
  • Those stepping down from secure care who require a period of rehabilitation before moving into the community


Healthlinc House benefits from an integrated multi- disciplinary team of Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Activity professionals which means that there is a real emphasis on individually planned structured therapeutic and activity based work to enable people to be develop their independent living skills for move on into the community.
