The Woodlands provides a specialist residential service for six men with a learning disability and complex conditions such as personality disorder, mental health problems and forensic issues.

The service at The Woodlands is an ordinary house on a residential street designed for those individuals who require a high level of support and supervision in a community setting, often as part of a pathway when stepping down from secure or hospital care.

The aim of the service is to encourage individuals to lead a full and valued life, enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks, managing risk and developing robust coping strategies.

The Woodlands forms a key part of Elysium Healthcare’s pathway of specialist learning disability services in Staffordshire which includes learning disability hospital services at The Woodhouse in Cheadle.

The Woodlands is located centrally in a residential area in Wolstanton, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The town enjoys excellent facilities and amenities with a wide range of cafes and shops, a historic market, a leisure centre and a college. The town provides a relaxed local environment to enable meaningful engagement in the community. The Woodlands is just one hour by car from Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham and has excellent public transport links.
