John Wins Nursing Associate Trainee of the Year 2020 at The Student Nursing Times Awards

Elysium Healthcare are delighted to announce that John Podmore, a Nursing Associate Trainee who works at The Woodhouse, has this year won the Student Nursing Times ‘Nursing Associate Trainee of the Year 2020’ award. This award aims to recognise final year nursing associate trainees and celebrate that they are able to deliver safe, quality and hands-on care.

The Student Nursing Times Awards aim to bring together the nursing community and highlight the best talent making their way into the nursing profession. These awards also focus on education within nursing, congratulating lecturers, practice supervisors, universities, trusts and private organisations that support student nurses on their journey.

This year Coronavirus has made life difficult for everyone, with the health and social care sector being at the forefront of these challenges. Many nurses have had to adapt their way of learning and working due to this, making the Student Nursing Times Awards feel it is even more important this year to recognise the achievements of student nurses and their educators.

The awards this year were streamed live and hosted virtually where the winners were all announced.

John said:

‘Thank you for everyone that I work with and nominating me for the award. It was surprising to be shortlisted. It’s an honour to achieve the award and the kind words from the judges.’

Congratulations to John on his fantastic achievement.
