Bere Clinic School is an integral part of the care and treatment programme facilitated within the hospital for young people with eating disorders.

All young people admitted to the hospital attend this on-site provision. Where possible, young people attending our eating disorder service will continue to study subjects chosen at their home school or college.

Head Teacher’s Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant, nurturing and aspirational learning environment that
places students and their needs at the core of everything we do.

We work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure we meet both their health and education needs. We recognise that recovery in their health goes hand in hand with their success in the school room.

We strive to minimise disruption to their studies and liaise closely with home schools so that we offer continuity between what they were studying and what we focus on here, so that we can reduce their anxiety about falling behind their peers.

We recognise that all students have the ability to succeed, and we employ experienced qualified teachers who can tailor provision to meet their needs and help them overcome barriers to learning. Students are taught in small groups with subject specialists and staff work hard to foster positive relationships and plan engaging content.

We see their time with us as a valuable opportunity to invest in each student and their future potential. We want them to leave us a confident, resilient individual with the skills they need to live a happy content life beyond their illness.
