17 Jul Chadwick Lodge take part in clinical trial
As part of our commitment to continually improving the quality of the service we provide, Chadwick Lodge is collaborating on a pioneering new clinical trial which aims to advance the treatment of people with borderline personality disorder. In collaboration with Imperial College London, Medical Director, Dr Piyal Sen and colleagues at Elysium Healthcare will be examining the role of Clozapine in the treatment of inpatients with severe personality disorder as part of The CALMED project. Clozapine has been successfully used to help people with psychosis who have not responded to other drugs and there is some evidence that it may help reduce suicide and self-harm. The new trial is due to start in September of this year. It will be the world’s first clinical trial of Clozapine for people with borderline personality disorder. Recruitment is due to start in September 2019.
