Promoting from within and seeing our employees taking the next steps in their career is the primary goal for our Learning and Development team. Working in conjunction with each site, they provide training opportunities to support your future development.

 

As well as structured development paths, a huge variety of specialist training is available for all professions, whether it’s a module about a specific topic relating to your career, or more generally related healthcare updates that will see you staying at the top of your game.

Training Options Explained

We believe that a strong foundation in your role and responsibilities is crucial when working in care, and our Induction is designed to ensure a smooth transition into your team while providing a high level of support and technical training.

 

At the start of employment with Elysium, employees who will be working at a service user site will first attend our Operational Induction Programme, which is a 13 week course to help you settle in and get to grips with your new role.

 

Head Office employees are given a local induction by your line manager and be introduced to colleagues in different departments.

‘My Elysium Learning’ (MEL) is our Learning Management System that is available to all employees. From here you can access online courses, book classroom sessions and record all your training and development 24/7 from all smartphones, tablets and desktop devices.

The Career Advancement Programme (CAP) is a 12 month course available for all Elysium Health Care Assistants. It is designed to strengthen your knowledge, awareness and practical skills to prepare you for the next stages in your career. Critical thinking and reflection on practice are also developed, and with the assistance of our Hospital Training teams you will be well equipped to refine your ambitions and hone the skills needed for the next steps in your development journey.

A wide range of specialist training, focused on the service you work in, is available to equip you with the understanding and practical knowledge needed to carry out your role safely and effectively. This will support you in delivering and maintaining a high level of care to service users within your service environment.

 

Head Office staff will be provided with relevant specialist training required for you to carry out your role.

All newly-qualified nurses begining their first year of employment with Elysium will be automatically enrolled into our internally-run, RCN accredited, Preceptorship Academy.

 

The Academy will provide you with all of the tools needed to develop your abilities and transition from novice to expert. Upon graduating from the Academy, you will be able to provide effective, high quality care to our service users and will be better able to enjoy the work that you do with us.

Depending on your role, the Elysium Workplace Apprenticeship Qualifications is available on a variety of subjects to help develop our workforce through achieving additional relevant qualifications relating to your job.

 

A variety of adult and children’s qualifications are available for Health Care Assistants to further develop your role.

 

The Nurse Associate, Assistant Practitioner or 1st Level Registered Nurse routes are three options to take a step forward on your journey to becoming a qualified nurse. These are 2 year training courses that are completed while in full time employment as a HCA. Once complete you can then take the second stage to become a qualified nurse while enjoying the increase salary and responsibilities of this more senior position.

 

Support staff across Elysium, including administration, finance, catering, HR, IT, hospitality and management have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of qualifications. A qualification that will make you better in your current role or allow you to step up into the next position should open this training avenue to you.

The Leadership Development Programme will provide you with the tools, knowledge and skills to become an aspiring leader. Through your leadership journey you will attend off-site workshops, complete a knowledge booster qualification and follow-up Diploma in Leadership.
